About Us

Are you interested in volunteering?

Our small staff at Tau Center understands the value of volunteers. Many of our programs and activities at Tau Center are assisted by local community members who donate their time to our programs and facility. If you’re interested in volunteering or would like to find out more information, please contact Nancy Morris at 630-909-6808 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Whether you have an hour of time or more, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities at Tau Center:

Taizé Prayer Service Volunteers

Taizé Prayer service is held approximately five times a year on Friday evenings from 7pm-8pm. Volunteers at this event help with hospitality, refreshments, greeting attendees, scripture readings, and clean-up after the service.

Special Event Volunteers

At our larger events, Tau Center is always seeking volunteers to assist as ushers/greeters; set-up/ambiance; hospitality; and other general assistance. These events typically occur on a Saturday or Sunday.

Facility Volunteers

Are you an organized person? Then, you might enjoy being a Facility Volunteer. Tau Center is open 7 days a week for its spiritual patrons, and we always need assistance keeping our rooms and amenities organized. Facility volunteers help occasionally with restocking our kitchens, supply rooms and straightening up our quiet rooms.

Outreach Volunteers

Are you a good networking person? Love to be out in the community? Tau Center is looking for outreach volunteers to help us spread the word about our facility and spiritual programs. We are currently a well-kept secret in our surrounding community, and we’re hoping you can help us change that. Our Outreach Volunteers help distribute fliers or assist our Marketing Specialist with efforts to inform our community about Tau Center.

Photography/Videography Volunteer

Tau Center is always looking for volunteers to provide quality photography or videography to help showcase our programs, facility and grounds in our printed materials and on our website. We greatly appreciate any professionals willing to help us convey our services to our community.

Let us endeavor to integrate the contemplative life and the active life, so that the active life is nourished and strengthened and supported through the contemplative and thus itself becomes rich in blessings.
— Mother Clara Pfaender, foundress of the Franciscan Sisters Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (Congregation of the Wheaton Franciscans)
