Offering Spiritual Direction
Annette has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She graduated from Loyola University in Chicago in 1986 and is currently working as a transplant coordinator. She was recently commissioned in spiritual direction through the Christos Center for Spiritual Formation. She has been graced to walk through the gift of marriage, the pain of divorce, the joys and challenges of motherhood, the grief that surrounds death and loss, and the chaos of facing life threatening illness seeking God’s presence and compassion in the midst of it all.
Events big and small can deepen our relationship with God and open our souls to new levels if we pay attention to God’s movement within us. I experience God in the stillness and quiet, in the beauty of nature, the gift of friends and family, in the people God puts before me each day, through my running, biking, kayaking, gardening and volunteer work. I am humbled each time I enter a companioning relationship through spiritual direction to experience the power and grace the Holy Spirit brings into our time. I believe we are all born in the image of God and, as God shapes and molds us, having a companion to walk that road can be a grace-filled gift. I welcome all people in whatever stage of life or prayer space they find themselves, be it in a dark space of life, a joy filled spot, or a time of shifting and unsettledness. It is good to journey together on our way to discovering a deeper friendship with God.
