Francis of Assisi desired to live the Gospels - he did not set out to create a movement. He chose a radical way of living the gospels by seeing God in all creation. As we journey through this program, we will explore how each of us is called to live the Gospels today. The Wheaton Franciscans are committed to sharing the Franciscan story and spirit with all. Exploring the Franciscan Way of Life is a two-year program open to people of all faiths who want to learn more about Franciscan spirituality and how to integrate Franciscan values into daily life. It is designed for individuals with no experience in Franciscan spirituality, as well as those with more knowledge seeking to bond with others to deepen one another's experience. The program is formatted to take place in 14 monthly sessions of approximately two hours each over the two-year period, plus a day of reflection at the end of each year. Each session provides readings to prepare for the day which includes prayer, input, reflection, and discussion in the group session. Participants are also encouraged to consciously integrate a ministry/service that stretches them to consider daily actions in the context of Franciscan spirituality and gospel values. Session dates for Cohort 3, Year 1 include:
